Saint Peter's University Hospital treats more than 18,000 infants, children and
young adults annually through its pediatric emergency department (ED). Our designation
as a children's hospital means that everyone who enters our pediatric ED receives
expert care. A skilled medical staff combines its special training with the latest
technology and equipment to treat children.
A visit to the ED can be a frightening experience for any young person. That's why
we have designed a child-friendly pediatric ED that offers televisions, toys and
video games.
Highlights of our pediatric ED include:
- Specially trained pediatric emergency doctors and nurses, including a pediatric
triage nurse, on duty 24 hours a day
- Child-friendly equipment such as small blood pressure cuffs and fine needles
- Private rooms
