Few hospitals offer the services provided by The Children's Hospital at Saint Peter's.
Designated as a
regional perinatal center, Saint Peter's provides the most sophisticated
level of newborn care available. It is that level of expertise that helps make us
one of the busiest maternity units in the nation: we deliver more than 6,100 babies
every year.
Specially Trained Staff
Our doctors and nurses are also trained to treat a wide variety of pediatric diseases
and disorders. Children and infants suffering from
childhood cancers,
craniofacial deformities and other conditions receive personalized and
specialized care from our staff.
Newborn Services
We provide expectant parents with
programs
that help them prepare for what lies ahead. Saint Peter's
newborn intensive care nursery focuses on ensuring the health of mother
and baby if complications arise.
Pediatric Services
Our affiliation with
The Children's Hospital
of Philadelphia (CHOP) has led to the establishment of the CHOP Cardiac
Center, where we provide the highest level of
pediatric cardiac care, one of the many
pediatric services that we offer. We are also one of the few hospitals
in the state to have a designated
pediatric
emergency department.
Saint Peter's boasts some of the top pediatric surgeons in the region, all of whom
take special care of children who must undergo
surgical procedures. Children recovering from surgery, as well as those
suffering from long-term illnesses, receive treatment in our
pediatric intensive care unit (PICU).
